Flying home for Christmas

Eskil Busck Andersen, 18 Dec 2008 (12:46)

It’s almost over… Saturday I’m flying back to Denmark for Christmas, so I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, but not before Sunday.

But before it’s all over, I found a little selection of links to celebrate new year and Christmas with you.

Santa Lucia

Eskil Busck Andersen, 15 Dec 2008 (02:17)

As some of you already know, I’m the only non-Swedish student in the Academy, but this weekend I tried my best to look Swedish.

I wanted to celebrate Santa Lucia, but got the dates a bit wrong. So Friday evening - the day before Santa Lucia - I talked my flatmates into visiting a Swedish restaurant around the corner from Glue. It’s called Fika (which translates to something like “Eat and drink with your mates” - I think) and we got herring, OP Anderson and Traditionell Plankstek. I can recommend you to drop by the restaurant if you’re in London and craving for kottbullar.

Saturday we celebrated the real Santa Lucia with pizza and El Classico (Real - Barca). My best Santa Lucia party ever…

I hope it’s self explanatory. If not drop a comment ;)

Todays top 3

Eskil Busck Andersen, 05 Nov 2008 (01:51)

Dear co-authors and readers,

I had breakfast with Lianne and Stefan (from Aegis and Isobar) this morning. We talk about a lot of things, but one particular thing, was about how we can get better at sharing knowledge and pass something on to eachother and the rest of the world. We talked about wikis and other solutions, but I think we could make a softer start and this is it.

A daily top 3. Today I’m deciding the topic, but from now on, it’s going to be anarchy. If you have an idea for a top 3, just post it (and tag them “top 3″). The idea is, that you post a topic and your own top 3 and then everybody (readers, authors, kids, grandparents, plummers, pizza bakers and so on…) comment with their top 3.

Top 3 of today: What I do when I feel uninspired and stuck in front of my computer.

My top 3.
1. Check my Delicious network feed (http://delicious.com/network/eskilbusck)
2. Look out the window and stay stuck.
3. Go to Google Reader and surf around in my RSS feeds.

What’s yours?

Getting tax deduction on my xBox purchase

Eskil Busck Andersen, 04 Nov 2008 (05:45)

I bought an xBox 360 the other day. It was a fairly good deal (£198) for a bundle with the arcade version of the console and two games; Fifa ‘09 and Tiger Woods ‘09. Not that the games really matters, cause I didn’t buy it to play on. I’m looking for new business opportunities. I saw this presentation on Ted and I know there’s equally cool options with the xBox, so I’m counting on finding a source of eternal income (and getting a tax deduction on my purchase).

If it doesn’t work, Patrik told me that it’s research to check out how gaming consoles works. So I’ll might have a second chance and getting the receipt approved.

So if you in the days to come see Gustav, Patrik or me write anything about drives, fairways, roughs, bunkers, greens and puts or Barcelona, Ronaldinho, Rooney, red card and Premier League, it’s all just part of a research experiment.

If you know anybody working in the Danish tax department, please forward this post. Cheers!

Site of the year

Sorry, I know the purpose of this blog is to share our experiences working at the Isobar agencies, but this is too funny not to post.

The best website I’ve seen in years.

My whip-master

(Sorry, couldn’t get the embed code to work, so this is just a pic linking to YouTube)

Featured in this video is my whip-master, the planning director from Glue. Some say he never blinks, and that he roams around the woods at night foraging for wolves… all I know is, he’s called Martin Bailie.

Glue Cake Bake 2008

Eskil Busck Andersen, 10 Oct 2008 (06:02)

Last friday we had a charity event at Glue. The annual cake bake day. My contribution to the party was a printed cookie from Firefox. Nerdy and not that tasty… to be honest, I actually just talked about it, cause I’m not good with analog stuff like printers. Here’s my favorite picture from the day.

The planners Jez and MJ.

Text as it should be

Eskil Busck Andersen, 26 Sep 2008 (10:33)

I hate reading long texts full of useless details. Most books I read could be cut down to a 20 pages summary and still prove all the points. I feel the same way about movies by the way - Lord of the Rings, not really my thing. I guess that some of you feel the same way, whilst others really like the never ending story full of metaphors and fluff. (I’ll never become a great artist).

Here’s the solution that should work for both parts.

BTW: Everything is fine at Glue. I’ll take some pictures of the office someday soon. And maybe even post my presentation of Farfar and the academy. I just have to get Farfar’s permission. I’ll be back.
