Hi everybody,
A little update from Glue. My 10th day at Glue is now almost over and so far it seems like it’s a nice place to work. Today we went out for lunch. 2 of the account managers had some birthday-excuse and invited a whole bunch of us to join them. It turned out to be the best lunch so far; we started out ordering beers and wine - a tradition in England I’ve heard, and then the food; burgers and chips. A perfect lunch.
Back at the office - 2 hours and some pints later - I realized that it’s not that easy to be productive, when you’re thinking about where the nearest pub might be. (Find it at www.fancyapint.co.uk). It took several cups of coffee to forget about the pub and think about something more relevant.
At the moment I’m doing research for Martin (one of the planners) and Dom (the head of emerging technology… cool job description by the way). It’s not easy to dig stuff out of the Internet, that these guys haven’t seen before, so it’s taking me some time. My research skills are probably not the best either, but my pool of bookmarks are growing extremely fast at the moment and before I leave Glue I will probably know about most of the valuable corners of the Internet.
Beside from my researching, I’m suppose to shadow each of the planners on some of their accounts, but at the moment everybody seems really busy and meetings get postponed all the time, so the shadow is a bit short. It will be better next week, I’m sure. We got some interesting clients, but I’m probably not allowed to write anything about them.
Well, that’s it for now. I will crawl my way home, dropping by all the pubs from the website mention earlier. Sightseeing is important when you’re in a new neighborhood.
Cheers,
Eskil aka. Xkill (My Jack The Ripper-ish nick)
