No more paper mugs

Manne Hermansson, 08 Oct 2008 (06:07)

Today I bought a stainless steel coffee mug. I have consumed so many paper mugs for my daily coffe and now, finally, these days are over. I have used a stainless steel water bottle for a long time, but not for my coffee. Did not find the most pretty, but the bottle will do its work.

Text as it should be

Eskil Busck Andersen, 26 Sep 2008 (10:33)

I hate reading long texts full of useless details. Most books I read could be cut down to a 20 pages summary and still prove all the points. I feel the same way about movies by the way - Lord of the Rings, not really my thing. I guess that some of you feel the same way, whilst others really like the never ending story full of metaphors and fluff. (I’ll never become a great artist).

Here’s the solution that should work for both parts.

BTW: Everything is fine at Glue. I’ll take some pictures of the office someday soon. And maybe even post my presentation of Farfar and the academy. I just have to get Farfar’s permission. I’ll be back.

Sleeping+working

Manne Hermansson, 18 Sep 2008 (06:16)

It feels like I´ve been here forever, but at the same time, no. I get reminded every day that so many things are new to me – I´m for instance in a new country, doesn´t speak my mother tongue language, have a lot of new experiences every day, exploring new places, connecting with new people every day and so on.

I´m making huge progress every day and it´s so much fun. Today I have, with a few other people at the agency, going through a PoV for a case that I wrote and received great feedback on it. Love it! I am so excited to see how this case is going to progress.

At the moment I am involved in five cases and all the working is going in high pace and I enjoying it very much. But it is also exhausting (in a good way). Last night I was trying to work from my condo where I live, but I was tired and my mind was not clear. At 9 am I decided to rest for 15 min, but that 15 min turned to 3 hours. So at midnight I woke up with a (what I think) a brilliant idea for a ongoing case and directly started typing down my idea and went to bed an hour later. I was so satisfied that I was sleeping and working at the same time, so time effective.

Recycling

Manne Hermansson, 14 Sep 2008 (01:14)

Everywhere in Toronto I see special trash cans for recycling. Canada like Sweden is very good when it comes to taking care of the environment, but why don´t these recycling trash cans exist in the streets of Sweden?

My Second Alarmclock

Manne Hermansson, 11 Sep 2008 (04:36)

Toronto is growing fast and many new buildings are on going. When I was searching for my future location at Google maps for the first time I discovered that my building was not on the map (see image). My real estate is finished but there are few other buildup nearby. And these building worker start there day at six in the morning. Lucky for me who am a heavy sleeper, but they have woke me up once or twice, so I consider them as my second alarmclock.

First week went by fast

Manne Hermansson, 09 Sep 2008 (07:26)

It feels like my days is going turbo. Here I am in this lovely city, Toronto. Having an impression mutation! From my first footsteps in Toronto I have been taken care of in the best way by my chief Robert Simon. Your awesome! It´s so hard to summarize this past week and not ending up in a long article. So for now on there´s gonna be more frequent posting from me.

So after the first day in week two I´m already involved in plenty of cases and it´s so exciting to participate with my new colleagues at Mindblossom.

There is only one thing I can complain about. I woke up six in the morning by a loud frequent beep. At first I was thinking that I had pushed a buttom on my cell (that I´m using as an alarmclock), but after a few seconds I was awake and knowing that it was the firealarm who was making this loud noise. Looking down from my balcony to see if anyone has gone out. There was not. Opened my door and even more fire alarm noise was coming towards me through the corridor. Put on my shoes and went outside lika many others. After 15 min the first fire truck showed and after another 20 or so, a firefighter told us that it was a false alarm. Thank you for that!

That was my monday morning!
