House party in Budapest

Linda Lindstedt, 17 Nov 2008 (01:36)

This Friday I went with Laci from work and Dora his girlfriend to a party. A friend of theirs held a birthday party in his supernice topfloor 3 room flat in Buda. In the livingroom the front wall was mainly one big window from one side to the other which allowed to shoot cool visuals (and playing some Mortal Kombat crazy big:) on the facade of the neighboors house. It was a really good party, meeting lots of fun people (some of the girls from Kiro also turned up) and dancing to great tunes from DJ Yeast.

Note to myself: next time eat a proper meal before partying, one could think I should know better by the age of 31. ;)

Been reeeeally busy lately …

Linda Lindstedt, 12 Nov 2008 (06:46)

The last 10 days been like a never ending rush hour for me. First of all I had friends here visiting, giving them the grand tour of Budapest, unfortunately I had to leave them half way through and head to Amsterdam.

I met up with the De-Construct team in Amsterdam to kick off some projects that I will be distance working with from Budapest. After 3 days in A’dam I jumped on a flight to Gothenburg, Sweden where my prescence was needed. I speed dated friends and after two days I went back to Budapest with new visitors in the baggage.

So there I was again, doing the grand tour and trying to be the perfect hostess when I most of all just wanted to sleep. The last week has been crazy. But fun. More fun than crazy I would say. Lots of work, late night with nice dinners and early mornings trying to catch flights or just getting up to be all sparkling and fantastic at work :)

Thanks Olivia+Johannes and Lotta+Katja for coming here.

Blossa Glögg 08

Linda Lindstedt, 29 Oct 2008 (10:40)

Yesterday I went out to IKEA to fetch me an extra mattress that I need for incoming Budapest visitors. On my way out I spotted a small area where they had put up store with ginger bread, the typical “christmas” chocolate Aladdin, special tea blends and so on. All of a sudden I see the glögg. Kind of Swedish glüewein. THis particulary bottle is a special blend that comes out in limited editions every year made from traditional Swedish berries and spices. And because of that it is always really hard to get your hands on a bottle. This years flavour is blueberry! Weeho!

It wont start selling until 3 November in Sweden, but it seems that abroad thery’re not as picky when and how to sell it :) So if you live nearby an IKEA, hurry hurry.

Cookies IRL

Linda Lindstedt, 27 Oct 2008 (05:12)

Today Kata B went around Kirowski handing out cookies that she made this weekend. Each cookie had an initial on it matching everyones name. Fantastic! They are so cute, I haven’t decided yet if I should save it or eat it. Hmm…

Something fishy with my closet today…

Linda Lindstedt, 21 Oct 2008 (11:51)

Ok, I dont know what happened here. But one thing is for sure, this is not how it supposed to be. The way I see it, there is two different explainations to this

1. It was like this when I moved in, and I saw it at first today.

2. The wood reacted with the heat and moisture from a bath I had this weekend.

Either way, its not good. :( I’m putting all my hope to that the closet will turn back to it old self again. Please do so little closet.

Gallery Cat

Linda Lindstedt, 20 Oct 2008 (02:47)

Every morning I walk past a small art gallery. I never give it much attention..but this morning something caught my eye. In the window there was a black cat. Sitting all calm, watching the people rushing by on the outside. I dont know if the the owner of the gallery lives there as well, but one could think so.

Hollah at you guys!

Linda Lindstedt, 30 Sep 2008 (12:28)

Is there anyone out there in the world who has started to use their Nike+? I sure haven’t. Yet.

Should we get it started, who’s in, who’s out? Well if I had Edward Norton in my iPod talking me through the run I sure would run all day long ;)

Lika an outdoor museum

Linda Lindstedt, 25 Sep 2008 (12:22)

Walking around in Budapest is like always be at a huge outdoor museum. The buildings are fantastic! So much history and great old architecture as Art Noveau, Gothic and Bauhaus. Magnificent I would like to say.

Funny thing happened today, after work I went down to the superduper crazy-good sneaker store White Label. I start talking with one of the guys there about sneakers and after a while he of course wondered where I’m coming from. When I told him Sweden, he looked at me and said come with me, I need a smoke.

I just laughed nervously and then he said, do you know that a Swedish king stopped by the corner of Irányi Utca and Vaci Utca for like 400 years ago?

– Ehh, no?

– Ok , follow me and I will show you.

And believe it or not, at corner building there was a bronze sculpture/picture-kinda-thing that said both in hungarian and swedish that Karl XII stopped there when he was on his way to Turkey. I think maybe it was in 1714 or something, I don’t remember,

Pretty funny, haha. :)

The weekend in retrospective…

Linda Lindstedt, 22 Sep 2008 (11:26)

I had great plans for my Saturday, dropping by the market, do some shopping, eat lunch there. Stop by my new favourite sneaker store White Label and so on…I did nothing of that. I had breakfast and after that I went back to bed and slept the whole day. So when the evening came I was restless as h*ll and went out to Szimpla for a beer. Sat down by myself in the bar and did some major people watching. Met a guy that I start talking to. After a few hours I went on to a place called Merlin. Great place, nice music and the beer was cold. I’m a simple girl :) Best of all Szimpla, Merlin and my flat is in the area of 5 minutes walking. Sweet! // More weekend after the jump >
