Summing up the trip to Buenos Aires.

This post will be rather long due to images, I suggest you skip right ahead to read the whole thing.
I went to Buenos Aires to attend El Ojo the advertising award show for the latin countries.
After one of my bumpier plane trips ever, I got some sleep at my hostel and then met up with Ricardo (from Agência Click/Isobar) and Jesus (from Netthink in Madrid, so he’s a friend of Björn) and had one of the best steaks I’ve ever had for lunch. A must if you’re in Argentina.

Ricardo and Jesus after the lunch.
Some of the most interesting presentations we caught during the festival was:
The Brand Bubble, about valuation of brands and creativity. It was really interesting, and it seems that the keynote is available on their facebook page.
The presentation on how a good idea should be. By Gastón Bigio from Ogilvy y Mather Argentina. He talked about that a good idea isn’t like a lightbulb, but rather a boxing ball (not sure if that’s the perfect word, but that’s how it was translated for me) that gets back when you hit it. In other words, it should get back up if you hit it. For example, if you test it, it should be able to get back up, and as a better idea in order to take the next hit.
Of course there was a few more worthwhile, but those two was the best ones.
Then was some awards given out.

Jesus got interviewed, so did Ricardo (several times) and I made a short appearance too.
I had the saturday free, so I went walking in the city. For four hours, the city is really, really beautiful. And the air gets a pleasant due to the city being so close to the water. There was always a slight breeze blowing and it was perfect for flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt.
So all in all, it was all pretty awesome. But kinda nice to get back to São Paulo on sunday anyway, no place like home I guess.
