Last day at the agency

Ola Persson, 19 Dec 2008 (06:36)

My plane takes of tomorrow evening.  What a sad sad fact. I’ll miss so much from here, most of all I’ll miss my girlfriend Lalai.

But before that, let’s party!

On the note of stuff happening in the agency, we presented to the client the project I’ve been working on lately. Success. They loved it. That felt good.

Rio pt 2

Ola Persson, 10 Dec 2008 (02:13)

We stayed in an apartment in the Ipanema neighbourhood (the most gay part of Rio in case you’re wondering) which is right next to Copacabana. Saturday was mostly spent walking around, and watching the surfers. The surf was fairly decently sized so it was quite entertaining. The good surfers took of right outside the rock and then passed really close. Ballsy.

The scenery of Rio is absolutely stunning, pictures can’t come close to making it justice. They also have draft beer in small carriages along the beach. Not bad.

What life outside Click is like

Ola Persson, 19 Oct 2008 (09:47)

Work hard, party hard. That pretty much sums up São Paulo for me.

I can’t really give away too much on the work part yet, some of the stuff I’ve made will be online fairly soon and I’ll post about it then. Three persons in from design has quit since I got here, so we really do have a lot of work. Has both upsides and downsides.

After having had a bit of a cold (had to stay at home one day to rest) this week. It felt well deserved to enjoy the weekend.. And a bit of a lazy one for once. Friday was spent eating and having a few beers close to Av. Paulista. On saturday I went to have lunch with friends, we continued to Expo Sticker 2008, a sticker art exhibition. After that we had a few beers before we ventured to Mercado Mundo Mix. The day was finished with a fashion photographers birthday party.

I brought my camera along, so here’s some pictures from the Sticker Exhibition.

And there’s of course more pictures over at flickr.

Beers for lunch

Eskil Busck Andersen, 12 Sep 2008 (07:09)

Hi everybody,

A little update from Glue. My 10th day at Glue is now almost over and so far it seems like it’s a nice place to work. Today we went out for lunch. 2 of the account managers had some birthday-excuse and invited a whole bunch of us to join them. It turned out to be the best lunch so far; we started out ordering beers and wine - a tradition in England I’ve heard, and then the food; burgers and chips. A perfect lunch.

Back at the office - 2 hours and some pints later - I realized that it’s not that easy to be productive, when you’re thinking about where the nearest pub might be. (Find it at www.fancyapint.co.uk). It took several cups of coffee to forget about the pub and think about something more relevant.

At the moment I’m doing research for Martin (one of the planners) and Dom (the head of emerging technology… cool job description by the way). It’s not easy to dig stuff out of the Internet, that these guys haven’t seen before, so it’s taking me some time. My research skills are probably not the best either, but my pool of bookmarks are growing extremely fast at the moment and before I leave Glue I will probably know about most of the valuable corners of the Internet.

Beside from my researching, I’m suppose to shadow each of the planners on some of their accounts, but at the moment everybody seems really busy and meetings get postponed all the time, so the shadow is a bit short. It will be better next week, I’m sure. We got some interesting clients, but I’m probably not allowed to write anything about them.

Well, that’s it for now. I will crawl my way home, dropping by all the pubs from the website mention earlier. Sightseeing is important when you’re in a new neighborhood.

Cheers,
Eskil aka. Xkill (My Jack The Ripper-ish nick)

Thursday = time for football (and beers)

Ola Persson, 11 Sep 2008 (06:44)

Thursdays are the football days here at Click. I played for like the first time since I was a kid last thursday so today will be my second time. I don’t think I need to tell you that I suck at football, but it’s fun nonetheless and good to exercise a bit. But the best part is probably the beers afterwards, brahma seems to be the most common beer here.

Now, back to getting some work done after work. Concept for a new hotsite, yeah!

Skål!
/Ola

Everyone keeps telling me how beer is spelled :)

Linda Lindstedt, 09 Sep 2008 (06:29)

I emailed all of Kirowski to get them to send me a daily word or phrase in hungarian. It seems to work really good, but for some reason everyone believes the most important word to know is beer ;) In hungarian it spells sör.

Which of cousre is a really good word to know. No swearing yet though, I’m guessing those words will come after all the beers.

Finally, blog up and running…

Ola Persson, 08 Sep 2008 (08:44)

Phew, it took some extra time. But now it’s finally live and there’s ten committed writer just waiting to unleash a torrent of posts about their experiences.

Just write a comment if you spot anything acting funny or have a feature request.

Last friday, we (people from Click) went out, first to the bar really close to click. My guess is that 90% of the income for that place comes from Clicks fridays there…
