Birthday party and visiting Colletivo

Ola Persson, 22 Oct 2008 (02:37)

I tagged along with Renato this Monday to the birthday party of Vanessa of Colletivo. Some beers and food at a restaurant. All in all quite pleasant. Then we went to check out their office nearby… Really nice place, very design studio-ish.

What life outside Click is like

Work hard, party hard. That pretty much sums up São Paulo for me.

I can’t really give away too much on the work part yet, some of the stuff I’ve made will be online fairly soon and I’ll post about it then. Three persons in from design has quit since I got here, so we really do have a lot of work. Has both upsides and downsides.

After having had a bit of a cold (had to stay at home one day to rest) this week. It felt well deserved to enjoy the weekend.. And a bit of a lazy one for once. Friday was spent eating and having a few beers close to Av. Paulista. On saturday I went to have lunch with friends, we continued to Expo Sticker 2008, a sticker art exhibition. After that we had a few beers before we ventured to Mercado Mundo Mix. The day was finished with a fashion photographers birthday party.

I brought my camera along, so here’s some pictures from the Sticker Exhibition.

Saved by a bear

For some reason (the space I didn’t have in my bag) I didn’t bring my harddrive containing my music. I love music. My music library is always growing, last time I checked I could listen around the clock for over 3 months without listening to the same song twice.

So when I suddenly only had a few days worth of music (what I had lying around on my macbook), I eventually went mad. Well, I spent some time trying out music services, such as deezer, last.fm radio stations, blip.fm etc. But I had issues with getting them to stream good enough to be really usable. The internet connections here can be really bad at times.

A few days ago Björn gave me a Spotify invite. If you’re not familiar with it, think of iTunes that streams whatever you want from the mayor labels, and a bunch of smaller ones. There’s a few things I haven’t found, but it’s definitely not too much that’s missing (unlike deezer). And not having to run it in a browser is also a plus.

Now if they’d only integrate it with last.fm and have the option to add in your own local music (like obscure remixes and other stuff that you don’t find in spotify).

So thanks to Björn for keeping me sane. ;)
